I read a short paper about the Questetra BPM Suite at the meeting of the Information Processing Society of Japan, held from March 10th through 12th at Ritsumeikan University. The title of the paper is 'Development of Human-Centric BPM System Considering Usability of Business Analysts'.

Subjects of the paper are concepts and outline of our software. It's not so academic, but it's meaningful because we have completed the software development. I think my presentation attracted the interest of the audience.

I talked about following features of our software with a quick demo.

• Integration of modeling language and execution language

  This feature liberetes us from converting modeling language and executing language each other, so we can achieve continuous improvements of our business processes with ease.

• Fully web-based application

  No individual client application for process modeling is needed, so many people can improve their business processes

I hope to evaluate our software based on utilizing this software in real business from now on.

3/10-12 に立命館大学で開催された情報処理学会全国大会の「グループウェア」セッションで Questetra BPM Suite の開発に関する論文の発表を行いました。論文のタイトルは「業務分析者のユーザビリティを考慮した Human-Centric BPM システムの開発」です。

この論文では製品の概要やコンセプトについて説明しました。今回の論文は学術的に深く掘り下げた内容ではありませんが、成果として完成した製品があるという点で意義は大きく、聴衆の人にも興味を持ってもらえたように思います。

実際に説明した Questetra BPM Suite の特徴は以下のようなものです。

• モデル記述言語と実行言語の統合

  プロセスの設計と実装の相互変換の問題に悩まされることなく、継続的改善が実現しやすい

• すべての機能をウェブアプリケーションとして提供

  プロセス設計においても専用のクライアントアプリケーションを必要としないため、多くの人がプロセス改善に参加しやすい

これらについて説明した後、簡単なシステムのデモも行いました。今後は、実際に業務で利用した上での実績を踏まえての製品の評価なども行っていきたいと考えています。
